The course includes three International Standard Organisation (ISO) and American National Standard Institute (ANSI) accredited certifications issued by CompTIA, the world’s leading provider of vendor-neutral IT certifications.  

With interactive learning activities and hands-on lab sessions, this course will help you master the fundamentals of cyber security. You could go from zero industry experience to a job ready frontline Cyber Security Analyst in less than twelve months.

This Certified Cybersecurity Professional Course has been designed to teach you the skills and knowledge you need to begin a frontline career in the cyber security industry. This means that the course has been engineered in a way that makes the technical subjects easy to comprehend for people with no prior IT knowledge.

The course is ideal for:

  • identifying threats - How do I analyse indicators of compromise and determine the type of malware?

This course contains three certifications from CompTIA. CompTIA stands for the Computing Technology Industry Association and it’s the leading provider of vendor-neutral IT certifications in the world. They have been developing IT specific training and certification exams for over 20 years.

2. Mentoring and support

You will be allocated an experienced cyber security mentor. Your mentor is an industry expert with years of experience and it is their job to help and guide you throughout the duration of the course. They'll host some of the webinars you’ll participate in as part of the learning activities and will also work on arranging webinars hosted by other industry experts.

Your mentor will be available by email or via instant message using Slack.

 

 

3. Exams

There are 4 exams across three certifications included in your course – there are two exams for A+, one exam for Network + and one exam for Security +. These exams will be multiple choice and performance based and the exams can be sat in person or with remote testing.

Throughout the course, there’ll also be test exams to prepare you for the real thing, as well as quizzes.

 

 

4. Extra activities and resources

During your course, you’ll gain hands-on experience with activities such as ‘Hack the Box’ where you can compete with your classmates, as well as interactive lab sessions. You’ll also have access to a selection of ebooks, provided by AIICT. They are not mandatory reading but will be extremely helpful references before you tackle your exams.

This is an online simulation tool with over 200,000 users worldwide, and it allows you to interact with real-world examples of attacks that you may face while working in the cyber security industry. Users compete for points, which contribute to their place on the global leader board. 

    Lab sessions are another activity where students gain critical hands-on skills and develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter to prepare for exams.  These exercises are quite varied and are dependent upon the stage of the course.

    You’ll also have access to video content and quizzes to test your knowledge.

  • Are there any tests or exams?

    Yes. This course includes four exams across three certifications – there are two exams for CompTIA A+, one exam for CompTIA Network+ and one exam for CompTIA Security+.  These exams will be multiple choice and performance based, and the exams can be sat in person or with remote testing.

    The cost of the exams (one attempt) is included in the cost of the course. AIICT will provide you with exam vouchers in order to register for these exams. If you’re required to retake an exam there will be an additional cost payable by you to AIICT for this.

    Throughout the course, there’ll also be test exams to prepare you for the real thing, as well as quizzes.

  • Will I receive a certificate when I complete this course?

    You will receive three certifications in globally recognised CompTIA course content after passing the four mandatory exams, as well as an AIICT Certified Cybersecurity Professional certification.

    The CompTIA certifications are:

    1. CompTIA A+, which is the is the preferred qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles.
    2. CompTIA Network+, which helps develop a career in IT infrastructure covering troubleshooting, configuring and managing networks.
    3. CompTIA Security+, which is a global certification that validates the baseline skills one needs to perform core security functions and pursue an IT security career.

    These certifications are accredited by International Organisation for Standardisation and the American National Standards Institute (ISO/ANSI).

    Please note, this program is not accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework (i.e. it’s not a Certificate I - IV or Diploma).

  • What are the minimum desktop and mobile requirements to view and access this course?

    While there are no prerequisites for the course, you’ll need to have access to a laptop or desktop computer with a reliable internet connection.
  • How do I access the course I purchased?

    Once you’ve purchased your course, you’ll receive an email within 48 hours from AIICT containing login information and simple instructions on how to get started and access your content within the AIICT online campus. You’ll also receive an online orientation that will help you prepare.

    If you have not received an email, please check your spam or junk folders within your email program to make sure it has not accidentally been filtered by your email program.

  • What kind of support will I get during my course?

  • Do I need to take the course in a specific order?

    You’ll need to complete this course in the order it is presented in.  This gives you an introduction and overview to the course, with each topic acting like a building block to prepare you for the next.
