They were really helpful in trying to get me to finish the course as personal issues delayed me in progressing. So those extentions were very much welcomed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many hours of work placement do I need to do for Certificate III in Nail Technology

icon

This course contains a minimum of 250 hours of work placement which will be split into two blocks. To find out what the suitable workplaces are for this course, download the course guide.

Can I undertake this qualification if I'm under 18 years old?

icon

Yes, you can! But firstly, we will need permission from your parent or guardian before you can begin your studies.

Are the products included in this course? If not what do I need to purchase?

icon

No products or equipment are included in this course. Your work placement supervisor may allow you to use some of their equipment, but this course requires you to complete certain treatments on your own models, so it is important to source your own products and materials. We do provide you with a guide list of resources in the Course Guide. This is just a guide only, and brands and websites are just suggestions. You are welcome to ask your trainer for their own recommendations.

Can I do workplacement in a home salon?

icon

Yes, you complete your work placement in a home salon, as long as it is a registered business (ABN) and provides the requirements in the way of treatments. Many students end up at more than 1 salon for placement, as not every salon will provide the types of treatment that you need to practice in order to complete your course.

And what qualification is my supervisor required to have?

icon

We recognise that training packages and qualifications change over time.  The supervisor needs to have a qualification in nail technology or beauty therapy and have a minimum of three years’ of industry experience working in a customer facing role performing nail treatments.
