Open Colleges offers three levels of Certificates through the Australian Qualifications Network.
The first level of Certificate provides students with basic vocational skills and knowledge and is suitable for new entrants wishing to explore a subject of study and gain basic, core skills.
A Certificate III develops higher-level vocational skills and requires students to demonstrate an understanding of basic theory within the field. A Certificate III is suitable for new entrants to a vocational area, but is also suitable for those who have some general knowledge of their study area.
A Certificate IV is designed for supervisory and management positions in an area of study. Certificate IV courses typically target people wanting to advance their careers in the industry they already work in, or further develop skills acquired through previous study.
A student who embarks on a Certificate IV will build higher-level vocational skills and achieve improved problem-solving and management expertise. When you successfully complete your Certificate IV you will have a higher level of theoretical knowledge in your study area.
Some of our certificate courses are offered by Open Colleges on behalf of one of our partner organisations. More information about the delivery arrangements for each course can be found on the course pages below.
