Growth is tipped across all sections of the industry, including: commercial construction, house and apartment building, and engineering construction.

What you will learn

Tailored to give you the skills and knowledge you need to move up the career ladder without attending a classroom, the Certificate IV will teach you how to:

  • Prepare building sketches and drawings, read and interpret plans and specifications, and apply building codes and standards to construction projects.
  • Apply structural principles, and identify and produce building and construction cost estimates.
  • Create and prepare construction contracts, plan building or construction work, produce labour and material schedules for ordering, and apply site surveys and set out procedures.
  • Manage site Work Health and Safety, apply legal requirements to projects and manage small business finance.
