Swinburne University of Technology began as Eastern Suburbs Technical College in 1909. It was renamed Swinburne Technical College in 1913 and became a University in 1992.
The University now provides 138 vocational education (TAFE) programs, to around 10,000 students. Training takes place via an online learning platform or across the University’s campuses. These include 3 Melbourne campuses at Hawthorn, Croydon and Wantirna, as well as 1 international campus in Sarawak, East Malaysia.
