Hunter Institute of TAFE, previously known as the Hunter Institute of Technology, is one of 10 Institutes in NSW providing Technical and Further Education (TAFE) courses. It is one of the largest regional vocational education and training providers across Australia and attracts approximately 60,000 students every year.
The Institute runs over 450 courses through its 15 campuses, which are spread across the Central Coast and Hunter areas of New South Wales. These include Belmont, Cessnock, Glendale, Gosford, Hamilton, Hunter Street, Kurri Kurri, Maitland, Muswellbrook, Ourimbah, Scone, Singleton, Tomaree and Wyong, with its main campus at Tighes Hill in Newcastle.
As well as these physical locations, students can also learn through Hunter TAFE online, a virtual college which provides 20 different courses.
