/ Skills Checkpoint Program
At Open Colleges we believe that everyone should have access to education, regardless of their circumstance. That’s why we are offering the Skills Checkpoint Program in partnership with VERTO, to enable older Australian workers, and recently unemployed older Australians, to remain in, or re-enter the workforce.
The Skills Checkpoint program will:
- Offer personalised advice and guidance on up-skilling for a current job, transitioning into new roles within a current industry or pathways to new careers, including options for relevant education and training.
- Allow eligible individuals access to a government subsidy of 50% of course fees, up to the value of $2,200 to fund reskilling or up-skilling opportunities.
1. Am I Eligible?
2. How can I use the Skills Checkpoint Program to fund my Open Colleges course?
You can call one of our friendly Enrolment Consultants on 1300 961 283 to get this process started.
Skills Checkpoint is delivered across Australia by ‘VERTO’ and ‘BUSY At Work’. A representative will contact you by phone to determine if you meet the eligibility criteria.
If you do, you’ll work closely with a Career Advisor and focus on your work experience, strengths and preferences. You will also undertake individually tailored assessments and psychometric testing to identify career and skilling options.
If the advisor believes that a VET course at Open Colleges is the right avenue for you, the Australian government will fund 50% of the course fee, up to the value of $2,200 (GST inclusive).
