Do all eBooks have a matching Audiobook counterpart?
Please do not assume that if we offer a particular eBook within a Library that there is ALWAYS a corresponding Audiobook of the same title. Likewise with our Audiobook titles, please do not assume that there is an eBook version of the same title by default.
While this may be the case in many instances, you should definitely confirm this by browsing for your specific title and desired format before purchasing.
Who is Skillsoft and who updates, creates and curates all the learning content?
Skillsoft is an educational technology company that produces learning management system software and learning content in the form of multi-modal courses, videos and micro-learning modules. In Australia Skillsoft provides learning content for various major Australian corporations.
In an Australian first, Open Colleges has partnered with Skillsoft to offer (Skillsoft based) learning content direct to the consumer via our Learning Libraries.
Will I receive a certificate or statement of attainment when I complete video courses found within Learning Libraries?
Our Learning Libraries are not qualification-led. Instead, they are designed to offer speedy learning experiences that quickly build skills and bridge knowledge gaps. As such, you will not receive a qualification for completing the available video courses. If you’re interested in going on to study a recognised qualification, Open Colleges offer a wide range of nationally-recognised qualifications which can be browsed from our home page.
How do I access the Learning Library I purchased?
Once you’ve purchased a library subscription, you’ll receive an email containing login information and simple instructions on how to get started and access your content within our portal. If you have not received an email please check your Spam or Junk folders within your email program to make sure it has not accidentally been filtered by your email program.
Will I get access to new courses and assets during my subscription?
Absolutely. Our content teams are adding new Video Courses, eBooks and Audiobooks regularly to the various libraries. You can expect your library to grow over the 12 month period.
Why do some libraries cost more than others?
Prices for our Learning Libraries are based on the breadth of content assets contained within each collection. As not all collections contain the same amount of content, we have priced them appropriately to offer the best value for money.
I notice some eBooks, Audiobooks and Video Courses are shared by multiple collections? Why is that? Which collection is right for me?
Across all our skills collections there are approximately 18,000 unique assets (Video Courses, eBooks and Audiobooks). These assets can appear in multiple collections if they are applicable to other topics. For example, there are Leadership Video Courses included in the Business Skills & Productivity collection, which also appear again in the Leadership & Collaboration Collection. To choose the right collection, you should select the one that best matches your aspirations. For example the Leadership & Collaboration Collection would be ideal to purchase if you were specifically looking to hone your Leadership skills, yet if you are looking to build more general business skills, you could choose the Business Skills & Productivity collection.
Can I get support with courses and content when using my Library subscription?
Although we have made every effort to make our Learning Portal as simple to use as possible, you can access support via the platform's menu after logging in. Here you can ask technical questions relating to navigating content or getting around the portal.
Open Colleges does not offer support on the course content from a tutoring\knowledge perspective. Please feel free to direct any other questions to skills@opencolleges.edu.au .
What are the Terms and Conditions?
You can find our Terms and Conditions here. These include an End User Agreement from Skillsoft our content provider, who license the content. Our Privacy Policy can also be viewed here as this details how we use and handle your personal information. Note: We do not store your credit card details.
Is my subscription refundable?
