About the position

The Business Analyst will work closely with the key stakeholders of Open Colleges’ Sales & Marketing Teams and related business functions to deliver detailed analysis, modelling and reporting aligned to current strategies to maximise revenue and profit across the Open Colleges portfolio. The position will need to present analytical commercial insights across the business, with particular focus on student acquisition.

Your insights and strong relationship building skills will be key to driving efficiencies and improving figures across the portfolio. Your attention to detail and accuracy in forecasts along with a passion for continuous improvement and data will set you up for success in this role.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all resources under your control and influence are used to make the most effective contributions to the short and long-term objectives of the business.

In this role, you will undertake the following core functions:

  • Conduct reporting and analysis for the Sales & Marketing divisions, including executive reporting of Sales, Marketing and contact centre results – leveraging various data sources, most notably Salesforce CRM
  • Drive highly accurate lead and sales forecasting with collaboration from other key stakeholders
  • Reactive & pro-active analysis on sales data across all metrics / trends, and utilising this data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with the marketing team to review market research and determine marketing campaign effectiveness and ROI across customer segments and products
  • Proactively analyse sales data and report on key findings including data mining across products and geographies to identify potential opportunities
  • Build on digital and online reporting to develop measureable business insights and track our digital efforts, and identify opportunities
  • Develop and deliver a metrics framework which incorporates industry, business and market data to guide business forecasts to where opportunities are
  • Lead a revision into existing reports and assist in the development of new reporting tools as needed for the divisions
  • Implement and manage reports and dashboards ensuring sales & marketing teams have access to key data required to successfully manage their business

To be successful in this role, you will have the following key attributes and skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong experience with CRM’s, preferably Salesforce
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Advanced) and business visualisation tools, preferably Power BI
  • Proven conceptual and analytical skills and the capacity to develop and effectively implement solutions for a range of complex issues
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills including the ability to influence others in cross-functional environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and manage competing priorities and stakeholders
  • Strong experience in developing successful pricing strategies designed to maximise yield and revenue across similar products and services

Tertiary qualifications including:

  • Degree qualified in Business, Sales or Marketing (essential)
