About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Trainer specialising in Leadership & Management to join our Education Delivery and Services Division. Our Trainers are key educational positions that drive learner engagement and progression. This position will primarily focus within Leadership and Management courses, specifically:

  • BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management
  • BSB51915 Diploma of Leadership and Management
  • BSB80515 Graduate Certificate in Management (Learning)

The Trainer achieves this through:

  • Active teaching presence in our learning platform, including through forums and live chat sessions
  • Augmentation and contextualization of existing learning content*
  • Implementation of initiatives to re-engage inactive learners
  • Managing student queries

In this role, you will undertake the following core functions:

  • Management of student academic queries within Education Service Standards
  • Facilitating and moderating student discussions
  • Facilitating webinars 
  • Implementing learner re-engagement initiatives
  • Augmenting course content
  • Conducting national workshops (if applicable)
  • Grade assessments in accordance with the Education Service Standards as required
  • Completing Professional Development requirements in line with an Annual Professional Development Plan
  • Working with the Training Operations Manager to develop a Trainer Engagement Strategy
  • Contributing to course specific and Open Colleges generic FAQs

Key Attributes & Experience:

  • Qualification - Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, and/or Diploma of Leadership and Management or higher (essential)
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or TAE40116) (essential)
  • Minimum amount of 3-5 years recent* industry experience as a professional team leader, supervisor or manager (essential)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development as outlined in the vocational and industry area
  • Membership/association with any highly reputable industry body in leadership (highly desirable)
  • Recent experience* in distance, flexible or online learning (highly desirable)

             * Defined as in the past 2 years

                              **This position is based in our offices in Sydney CBD**
