Thanks for your interest in the Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design & Technology, which is one of Open Colleges’ (formerly Cengage Education) popular new courses. The College of Fashion Design tell us that the proportion of students going on to work in the fashion/clothing industry after studying this course is very high (about 100 percent, in fact). Most students prefer to start with a small business or home dressmaking and then develop their successful designer-maker activities. One key reason for this high success rate is that the course is skills-based and very practical so students feel very confident in translating their skills into the workplace. You can find feedback from successful students here. We’ll share student case studies as they become available. Good luck!
