A big future in small engines

Bradley Smith from Hope Valley in Adelaide is fascinated by the workings of the internal combustion engine.

It will therefore be no surprise to know that he is currently completing Cengage Education’s Certificate in Fundamentals of Small Engine Repair.

“I have always liked working on car engines and I wanted to gain some more knowledge, particularly on the mechanics of smaller motors like those on bikes, and this course seemed ideal,” explains Bradley Smith.

Bradley has applied for a job as an auto engine dismantler and he believes his new skills will help him find work in this or a related field.

“I have learned a lot about the essential features of most types of small engines and I can see that this course will help me to find work in other areas such as hire equipment repair, working on devices like chain saws and lawn mowers.”

Bradley completed the course in about 12 weeks and appreciated the online format and the prompt support and advice provided by his mentor.

“Because I love mechanics, I feel that I blitzed through the course and I have my girlfriend to thank for telling me about Cengage Education – she is doing a Certificate IV in Financial Services.”
