A Home Care Worker visits a client in their own home, to help them with daily tasks, from feeding through to tidying up and making sure they have a nice and comfortable environment to live in.

The majority of workers employed in this profession have a Certificate III/IV qualification (43.6%) or a Year 12 qualification (15.4%). 70.8% have a Certificate III or higher, whilst 29.2% have a qualification which is Year 12 or lower.

Home Care Worker Duties & Tasks

  • Help client with washing and dressing
  • In some instances, clients may require Home Care Worker to prepare food and even feed them
  • Housekeeping, to make sure the client has a pleasant environment to live in
  • Carry out schedules from nurses or managers, to help care for the patient
