Our students truly get the best of both worlds! They learn from experienced nurses and clinical specialists onsite at Open Colleges School of Health campuses in Adelaide and Perth. Plus, they’re also afforded the flexibility and convenience of some online learning, so they can study anywhere, anytime. Clinical placements then allow our students to gain critical, hands-on experience to build their knowledge and confidence to deliver exceptional care to patients and clients.

What courses do you offer at Open Colleges School of Health?

We currently offer the following courses:

The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) is ideal if you’re looking to enter the growing aged care industry

Do you have a genuine interest in caring for elderly people? This course offered by Open Colleges School of Health is structured to provide you with both the ‘Ageing’ specialisation and ‘Home and Community’ specialisation in the one qualification. This course will help you gain essential, person-centred skills and knowledge to care for and support elderly people living in residential and aged-care facilities. Within the course you will learn how to provide physical, social and emotional support to the elderly, as well as how to work as part of a team with other health professionals such as nurses and healthcare workers.

Successful completion of this aged care training is a pathway option into the Diploma of Health at Open Colleges School of Health.

Enjoy the convenience of blended study, which combines online learning with a supportive face-to-face campus experience in our clinical skills labs in Perth or Keswick, South Australia. Plus - get the on-the-job training you need with work placement in a real-life community and aged care setting.

The CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services unlocks a variety of job opportunities

Learn how to listen to and understand people’s problems, background, circumstances, and how to counsel clients on the areas they are struggling with. With this Diploma you will support, advocate, and make a positive impact in vulnerable people’s lives by learning how to provide a holistic approach to client needs, including social, emotional, psychological and practical support.

Enjoy the flexibility and freedom of online study combined with the practical, hands-on experience of face-to-face learning at our School of Health campuses.

Build a career that’s meaningful, fills you with a sense of purpose, and provides diverse job opportunities, with the Diploma of Nursing course HLT54115

As a nurse, you can make a real difference in someone's life by offering hope during a patient's most vulnerable times. Nurses often counsel patients and families after a devastating diagnosis, celebrate with them when they receive good news, and become trusted confidantes. No two days in nursing are ever the same, and this challenging sector can be extremely rewarding and fulfilling.

Learn from experienced nurses and clinical specialists onsite at Open Colleges School of Health's state-of-the-art campuses and gain hands-on experience with skills lab training and clinical placements. Plus, some of the learning will be delivered online so you can enjoy the flexibility of studying anywhere you like. With the use of hospital simulation software and a hands-on work placement, you will acquire the practical knowledge you need to start your nursing career.
