Channel your inner… Emily Blunt

by Amanda Collins

Need a bit of inspiration to help you persevere? Why not try channeling your inner Emily Blunt?

“Persevere. Believe that if you want something badly enough that the universe will conspire to make it happen.”

English actress Emily Blunt did not start out in life ever thinking that she would be an actor due to the fact that as a child, she suffered from a severe stutter. According to Blunt, the stutter was so debilitating, that she had serious trouble holding a conversation.

Her parents took her to speech therapists and relaxation coaches, all to no avail, and it was only when a teacher at her school suggested that she try acting in an accent during a school play, that she was able to make the very first breakthrough in her stuttering. From here, Blunt persevered, working on her acting and her stuttering until she no longer needed to play a character to get rid of her stutter, it was just gone.

So if you have an issue you’re working through, remember all your hard work and perseverance will be worth it. You can do it.
