Australian Federation of Travel Agents Education and Training alliance with Open Colleges

The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) Education and Training has appointed Open Colleges as their Preferred Online Training Provider to offer industry relevant online courses to the travel sector.

AFTA is the voice of the travel industry in Australia. The mission of AFTA Education and Training is to ensure that industry professionals have access to the highest quality travel education and training. 

The travel and tourism courses offered by Open Colleges have been endorsed by AFTA Education and Training and are suitable for new entrants to the industry as well as the existing travel businesses looking for gap training to meet the accreditation needs of their workforce.

"Open Colleges has a long history of providing online education. Their customer built learning platform will provide greater accessibility and flexibility for travel businesses looking to train their staff, as well as individuals who are interested in becoming travel agents,” said Rick Myatt, Director of AFTA Education and Training.

“We are excited to be involved with this venture with AFTA Education and Training, as our knowledge and expertise in developing innovative online courses will directly benefit the travel and tourism industry.” said Kim Wright, General Manager of Open Colleges. 

Nationally recognised courses offered under the AFTA Education and Training and Open Colleges alliance include:

  • Certificate III in Travel: everything you need to know to become a travel consultant or travel agent (AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme compliant)
  • Certificate IV in Travel and Tourism: a pathway to a supervisor level role in the travel and tourism industry
  • Certificate III in Tourism: get your foot in the door of the tourism industry (coming soon)

Open Colleges is currently working with AFTA Education and Training to develop brand new, industry led qualifications in travel and tourism. These courses will be available soon!
