/ The Gordon Institute of TAFE Courses and Campus Information

The Gordon Institute is one of the largest providers of Technical and Further Education (TAFE) courses within the Victoria area. It first opened in 1887 and has been running for over 125 years. It now has more than 19,000 students enrolling annually and provides more than 350 short courses and nationally accredited qualifications, which range from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma level.

Training can take place on-campus as full-time or part-time education, as well as off-campus via online learning or in the workplace.

The Gordon Institute has 4 campuses, which are located at Geelong City, East Geelong, Colac Trade Training Centre and Werribee Learning Centre.

Open Colleges is not affiliated with The Gordon Institute. This page is an information page only.

Open Colleges has a partnership with North Coast TAFE to deliver a series of TAFE courses in an online format.

Studying online vs. studying on campus

If you do not wish to study on campus, or if you are located in an area with limited or no access to TAFE courses, you may wish to consider online study. With Open Colleges’ unique model – you can study a select number of TAFE courses with Open Colleges’ trademark learning benefits:

  • Supportive: Our dedicated team of student support staff are on hand to help you achieve your goals from start to finish.
  • Affordable: Choose a payment method that suits your needs: monthly, fortnightly or weekly payment plans.
  • Flexible: Study when you can, no due dates, no start times. Structure your study around your current commitments.
