TasTAFE was previously known as TAFE Tasmania and included the Institute of TAFE Tasmania and the Drysdale Institute. However after a number of reforms, it started operating as TasTAFE from 2013. TasTAFE is now run by the Tasmanian State Government and is the only Institute in TAS that provides Technical and Further Education (TAFE) courses. It is also one of the 10 largest Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) in Australia.
TasTAFE operates across 13 campuses which include Alanvale, Inveresk and Launceston in the north, Burnie, Devonport and Smithton in the north-west and Bathurst Street, Bender Drive, Campbell Street, Claremont, Clarence, Drysdale (Hobart) and Hunter Street in the south. Students have 375 courses to choose from, to gain qualifications from Certificate I level to Advanced Diploma level.
