The Opportunity

The Admissions Officer will be passionate and experienced educational administrative professional with experience in educational administration and support. This role is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient services in the administration of admissions and enrolment of all Open Colleges students including timely and accurate processing of student applications.

The Admissions Officer will be concerned with the quality of the student experience by providing exceptional customer service and support to applicants and students of Open Colleges through the admissions and enrolment process. This position will also provide input into the continuous improvement of the admissions and enrolment process, compliance, course design, learning materials and assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

The Admissions Officer is responsible for providing professional and timely response to student applications for enrolment, including:

  • Administering all applications for admission to OC from online enrolments (EduPay);
  • Follow-up pending applicants for outstanding requirements including: enrolment forms, outstanding documentation, payments etc;
  • Provide professional and timely response to Course & Careers Advisors on finalisation of enrolments for entry to the College;
  • Provide information to prospective candidates and staff on the admissions regulations and procedures;
  • Ensure all enrolments meet admissions criteria;
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation;
  • Resolve any problem enrolments in conjunction with Faculties;
  • Administer all requests for change of enrolment, including, re-issuing offer letters as required;
  • Brief Enrolment Consultant and staff about eligibility and admissions procedures and requirements;
  • Management of RPL assessment applications and outcomes;
  • Assessment of all Credit Transfer applications;
  • Management of International Student enrolments;

Key Attributes & Experience:

  • Experience (+1year) in admissions or student support role
  • Experience (+1year) in education industry
  • Experience (+1 year) in vocational course support
  • Experience (+1 year) in distance, flexible or online learning
  • Knowledge of AQTF2010
  • Knowledge of Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 and National Code of Practice 2007 (highly regarded)
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of key legislation, policies and procedures relevant to student admissions processes

Educational Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Training and Assessment (desirable)
