Overview

Open Colleges is seeking to appoint a passionate Front End Java Script Developer with experience in responsive rich front-end web development and a passion for learning. Any fast-paced agency or startup experience is a huge plus.

Your core functions:

The Front-End Java Script Developer works closely with Multimedia Designers, Video producers, Learning Designers, Product Managers and the OpenSpace development team to deliver a modern, responsive online UX for our learners, including:

  • Implementation of new FE features and functional enhancements
  • Improving FE application performance and GUI responsiveness
  • Front-end improvements
  • Ensuring the student experience is seamless across desktop, mobile and tablet devices

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working as part of an agile development team
  • Essential Technical skills:
    • Responsive FE development (Zurb Foundation is a plus)
    • Experience with one or more modern web MVC frameworks, preferably Angularjs 1
    • Understanding of JavaScript, jQuery, HTML 5, CSS3
    • Experience managing CSS with either SASS or LESS
    • A good understanding of the Open Source software community and available resources
  • Desirable Technical Skills:
    • Experience with FE Testing of responsive web applications
    • Experience with build tools (gulp, grunt, webpack)
    • Experience with Drupal
    • Experience in a fast-paced product centric environment like an agency or start up.
    • Experience with one or more modern web MVC frameworks

Education/Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Information technology or equivalent
