Entry requirements

Minimum education

English language requirements

Open Colleges will endeavour to provide additional assistance to students who experience difficulties with language, literacy and numeracy.

Workplace requirements

Students who are not currently employed in a dental practice will need to complete 120 hours of work placement in an accredited dental practice, supervised by a qualified staff member, to meet the qualification requirements. Students will need to find their own work placement.

Additional requirements

Student will need to provide a current Senior First Aid Certificate from an accredited course to cover HLTFA301C Apply First Aid.

Students who successfully complete this course may go on to study the Certificate IV in Dental Assisting HLT43007.

Students are required to be employed in their chosen field to enhance their 'on the job' learning. They need to be supervised by a qualified staff member and working a minimum of 16 hours per week to meet the qualification requirements.
