Designed to provide the skills and knowledge required for independent work in the fashion design and garment construction industries, this nationally recognised qualification is one of the only courses of its kind delivered entirely via online learning. Part of the LMT07 Textiles, Clothing & Footwear Training Package, it is suited both as an entry-level qualification in fashion design (as it includes all units from the Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design & Technology LMT41007) and as a useful source of skills for those seeking employment in advanced patternmaking, or who wish to turn a hobby into a small business.
Among other skills, students will learn to produce a fashion illustration, apply advanced patternmaking principles and develop patterns for complex fashion garments. Training in important business skills such as cost estimating and marketing planning is also provided. The course includes CD-ROMs and workbooks from Telestia, a global leader in learning materials for the fashion industry.
